Hope you still don't have any pain. Whoever said to put a clove on the tooth said just what I would've said. Cloves are natural anelgesics and by placing one (or a few) on the tooth and biting down on them, they'll soften and help to numb the pain. I've actually avoided dentists visits by using them.
Also, one drop of clove oil works as well, but it does hurt first.
