| Re: Who knows more shop now - pay later sites? I am in the same boat and have been for YEARS! I am now 40 but at the age of 22, I married and trusted my now ex husband, he had used my social security number to make purchases, I never knew anything about it until I started recieving bills under my name that had fallen behind. The last straw for the marriage was when "his' boat was suddenly repossessed- it was purchased under my name and s.s. number!
This occurred in the 80's when credit fraud and theft was not as prevelent as it is now. I filed for divorce but could not afford to fight it in court, so old credit cards and his bancruptcy, and boat repossession all affected me! No one will give me a chance whatsoever to this day. And unfortunately, I have had to do without, most of my life, so if there are opportunities where I can take advantage of their programs responsibly and legally, then as a consumer, I want to know where they are and if I qualify. Most of the buy now pay later websites are usually way too expensive for me anyway. I understand what the individual is trying to get across but there are a handful of consumers who are responsible and actually need help in the ways of being trusted when making purchases, especially in todays world. |
