My wife and I got a Tivo last year, and it has been one of the BEST things that we have ever purchases. We hate commercials, and wasting time. We love it. In fact, we are probably going to buy another one for our other tv.

As with anything, it can be difficult setting up for the first time. Here is what I remember though.

The only equipment that we have are: the Tivo box, the Tivo adapter (price was about $70), internet access and cable tv. The Tivo adapter was the way we wanted to go, instead of hooking up our phone line. From what I remember, it wasn't really hard to set up. I'm not sure if your having trouble setting up the physical parts of the Tivo (box, cables, connections, etc.) or the set up of the menu's and such when the Tivo is all hooked up. Hope this helps. By the way, our Tivo adapter wirelessly connected to our AT&T internet router. This router is called a 2Wire router, and will hook up wirelessly with our Tivo adapter. It is awesome.
