IMO, since you're renting in '08 I wouldn't bother looking this far ahead.
Most of the codes/coupons are good through the next few months. As the end of the year approaches, you'll find deals through either alamo.com, Entertainment book, travel sites, or just do a google search under "Alamo car rental coupon."
Once you find what looks like a good rate, reserve it. As your rental date approaches, check periodically to see if you can get an even better rate. If you do, book it and then cancel your other reservation. Most car rentals have no cancellation penalties, but check the rules to be sure.
