Re: Do you consider yourself smarter/IQ then President Bush?

Oh, come on! Is this a trick question? My dear old Irish setter is smarter than he is, and she's been dead for years! OK, OK, that's not very respectful, but the evidence is against Bush being particularly (or even slightly) intelligent. Aside from his incredible speech gaffes, he doesn't seem to be up on current events (didn't know who the Pakistani president was during his own first run for POTUS), doesn't seem to understand how things work ("More and more of our imports are coming from foreign countries." Eeek!), and seems to have no understanding of different belief systems, cultures, religions or viewpoints (or the ramifications of them when dealing on an international scale). He seems to have a peculiar lack of curiosity (says he only reads the headlines of newspapers). While Katrina was destroying New Orleans, he sat in his ranch house and was briefed via videophone by his staff on the pending tragedy. They explained how this was the "Big One" and that immediate action was required. When they were finished, he didn't have a single question, and made some inane comment, like, "Thank you and I'll take it under advisement." Then he ended the briefing and continued with his vacation. Of course, this is the man who froze when informed that our nation was under attack on 9/11. (And I don't want to hear how that can happen to anyone when something that momentous occurs. I, along with many Californians, are trained and ready to jump into immediate action in case of earthquake. Shouldn't the POTUS be at least as good as many responsible, upstanding citizens?) Even more distressing is his lack of sophistication. He doesn't seem to understand that it's a GOOD thing to change your mind when new evidence is presented, and that it is NOT a sign of a lack of integrity!

I could go on and on, but I don't have 2 or 3 weeks to do so. But here's a fun link from youtube that you may enjoy.http://youtube.com/watch?v=whhbPVrb5KM
