I tried copying the link to the standard avatars that are available and doing it through the custom section, just to experiment... and it still states that it is unable to save the image. The only way I get a different response is if I try to upload an animated avatar; then it tells me I can't do that. I recall reading on another post that the problem was submitted to the people that are in charge of fixing such issues, and that the last response was on 7/9... has there yet been an updated response to the subsequent query?
