I was worried about this too, but apparently it's not because of our current political situation. Ms. American slipped and fell when she started to walk down the catwalk. She got up immediately and showed poise and grace in continuing as if nothing had happened. She and Ms. Mexico were in the top 10 finalists. However, when the last 5 finalists were chosen, Ms. Mexico was not included (even tho' she hadn't fallen down!), but Ms. America was. Apparently, some Mexicans felt that was unfair.
