| Re: How to trim your hair all by yourself!
If you have a timer at home (even on the stove) ....try telling your child you are going to play a "new game".
You go first......set timer for 4 or 5 minutes & YOU sit "still" & tell your child to use his "finger scissors" to pretend cutting your hair.
Then .....set timer again & have him "TRY" to be still for 4-5 minutes while you use your "finger scissors" pretending to cut his hair.
Just make sure you tell him that if he goes to get a HAIRCUT WITH REAL SCISSORS he must be still!
(If it don't work.....at least the kids "usually" eat up the attn. of the game & all you've lost is 10 minutes of your life or gained 10 minutes of bonding).

*** Offer a small reward if he "WINS" by being still for the short period of time.
A trip to the park, 2 instead of 1 bedtime story, a trip to the pet store or farm to "just visit" the animals, a trip to the library.......something free & preferably NOT food treats (diabetes is rising in kids)! (Another plus - more bonding time for both of you).
