That's true. If the item isn't ready to be shipped (as in out the door that day), your credit card is not supposed to be charged. You have no merchandise enroute, therefore, they are not supposed to be charging you.
I buy many things online, especially for soap making and lotions, essential oils and all kinds of things and my credit card is never charged (except for "one" time, when I "did" go to my credit card company and the online BBB), till the order is to be shipped out. They can and do a pre-authorization though, as in making sure that you have the credit available on the card and you get a number for that. That's done immediately, though the card should show no charges on it.
