Mayfly, I get that she was young; I DON'T get that her apology was anything more than a publicity stunt when she was being picketed by veterans.

As far as I am concerned, she shouldn't be honored EVER because of her un-honorable actions on the global front. Her debt was paid 2000 yrs ago if she is a Christian; her CONSEQUENCES maybe not.

Heck, I am still paying consequences for choices I made when I was 16- that's how life works. I am forgiven, but I still pay dues. And trust me, if I was ever put up for an 'honor' like that, I am sure I know some folks who would come out of the woodwork to protest. We all pay for mistakes all of our lives, in one way or another.
