We raised cows, pigs, and chickens on the farm. I enjoyed them while they were alive but had no qualms about killing them for food. And a little wrestling never hurt them. The pigs escaped occassionally and it was a real challenge to catch them. I think the challenge on Survivor did not hurt them at all. I bet a few minutes after it was over the pigs were totally back to normal. |
I know I have an overly soft spot for animals. Yesterday my husband and I drove an hour and a half to take one of our cats to a veterinary oncologist and will be spending around $4000 to try to keep her around a few more years (she is 12 1/2 now). Probably most people wouldn't do that so I will accept that I am most likely in the minority that was offended by the treatment of the pigs. By the way, I don't know what happened to the pig in the first epidsode and I don't want to know. We turned the channel until we were sure that part was over.
