| Re: I killed a bird....
Well, would it make you feel any better to know I saved a bird today? We had a terrible storm last night. Amidst the thunder and lightening and trembling dogs, I had to listen to a chorus of happy frogs singing outside my window. When I woke up this morning, my first thought was "I can't believe those frogs are still at it". Then a bit of lucidity set in and I realized I was hearing birds rather than frogs. Next thought "wow, that bird is so loud it sounds as though it's in my house". Then a commotion from the kitchen. I got up and found a cat and a dog on either side of the trash can, and a squeaking bird hidden behind it. It was a young bird, probably fell out during the storm. I'm sure the cat caught it and brought it in thru the dog door. I woke up my daughter for help (someone had to hold the cat while the other one caught the bird). Placed it outside on the lawn (closed the dog door) and watched. I thought if it was injured I would take it to the vet on my way to work. Within a few minutes it recovered enough to fly away. So you see, hmsram, maybe the balance of nature for birds is still okay!
