I purchased a pair of Gap Khaki Pants in March. They were very nice and I only wore them about 4-5 times on special occasions.
I had them cleaned and pressed at the cleaners once and then wore them this past weekend. I have a dinner tonight so I threw them in the wash last night. There were a few small spots on them so I sprayed some Shout on, making sure to read the instructions...it's for colorfast items, those that don't bleed or fade, and as far as I'm concerned Khaki doesn't bleed or fade, as least not to the extent of other colors of clothing.
I took them out of the dryer and to my dismay found that my $40 khakis had orange spots on them! They looked almost like bleach marks, but we don't use bleach and Shout doesn't contain bleach and was supposed to be safe to use.
I've never had a problem with Shout on Khakis in the past. I believe it may be because of the dying process Gap uses - I even did online research and found others who had these orange spots appear on their clothing from water.
I am disgusted that this company would charge so much for their clothes, yet make such a cheap product. I wash it one time and use a small amount of stain remover and the pants are ruined forever!
