I want to network my Dell desktop and my Dell laptop. My internet connection is wireless, meaning there is an antenna on our roof, with a co-axial cable coming into the house, and connecting into the back of my tower with a special card. I can't use a regular router, but I've been told I can go with a wireless access point and connect with a Cat5 cable, and use a PCMCIA card in the laptop.
Now......... which of these should I go with? Anyone have any experience with either D-Link or Linksys? Anything about these systems that makes one a better idea than the other? The end price is nearly the same for either system. And importantly, will either of these work for what I want to do?
D-Link DI-713P Wireless Broadband Router and Access Point with 3-Port Switch D-Link AirPlus DWL-650+ Wireless 22 Mbps PC Card
OR
Linksys Wireless-B Network Kit
The rebate on the Linksys expires tomorrow (purchase date), so I really have to make this decision by then.
Thanks for any help!!
