Poor me ... all my threads get locked... Someone said in the last one that any post that has to do with any type of religion should be locked. This especially seems strange to me since there are several people here who chose religious user names, and who use Bible verses or other religiousy ideas as their signature.
Is there any sort of rule of thumb for the moderators in locking a thread. I don't have a problem with threads getting locked if there is angry fighting or something... but with this past one, for example, there was none of that. Even Mayor posted in it, and it was still locked after that. What's up with that. If the thread is fine with Mayor than shouldn't it be fine with the mods? Is it now going to be the rule that no talk of any type of religion is allowed here at DOD... even if it's done respectfully?
There are a lot of controversial topics that have been discussed at DOD that were non-religious... and no one locked those. Is it fine to talk about controversy as long as it is not religious?
As far as the arguement for not putting others down... I can understand closing threads when certain members put others down - I wasn't doing that. As far as that goes... FUNdamental has been "put down" in several threads and those are not locked.
If anyone else mentions taking this type of threads to truthsoup I think I may go crazy. If you go to truthsoup you can see that NO ONE IS THERE! There are a handful of posts and many that are up are still from 2001.
I'm wondering if there is a rule of thumb the mods have been told to go by and what the DOD members think.
