Perhaps they would be unfair.....
However, the accident occurred when she was young, and it was an accident, not an intentional thing.....and i am sure it was not an experience she would have dealt with easily ..... they say people who accidentally kill strangers have a tough time coping, but to accidentally kill a someone close to you would have to be even more wrenching....I would venture those memories haunt her to this day and the pain and remorse are probably always going to be a part of her to some degree.
I like Laura Bush.....I do not know her personally, so I suppose a more accurate phrase would be: what I know of her.....she seems well poised, educated, sincere.
