I am very sorry to hear about your step grandfather. My grandmother too was septic (I had never heard of that at the time!). She died after about two weeks in the hospital - four days before my wedding.

I know it is hard, but at that age, sometimes it is just better to let them go. My grandmother had already had two strokes (on affecting each side of her body) and it was hard to see her that way. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that your grandfather lived a long and hopefully good life. I also lost my mom when she was 40 and my stepmother when she was 49. I would have been much happier to have them until they were 84 like my grandmother, but God works in mysterious ways. My prayers are with you.
