As you probably know, ink cartridges usually run $29 for b&w, $32 for color. The first time I bought replacement cartridges, it was with a buy $50, get $25 free at atyouroffice.com.
Then I bought a b&w for $18 at 123inkjets.com (15% rebate through ebates).
The last time, I bought a whole printer--Apollo P-2200--for $40 after rebate, just for the ink!
It would be nice to find a place that sells them cheaply all the time.
