There is really little debate on whether Humans are ONLY Herbavores, since they are not they are Omivorse. Please read this small introduction, conclusion and I have included the web site also in case you would like to read the entire paper on this.
Introduction
There are a number of popular myths about vegetarianism that have no scientific basis in fact. One of these myths is that man is naturally a vegetarian because our bodies resemble plant eaters, not carnivores. In fact we are omnivores, capable of either eating meat or plant foods. The following addresses the unscientific theory of man being only a plant eater.
Conclusion
Humans are classic examples of omnivores in all relevant anatomical traits.
There is no basis in anatomy or physiology for the assumption that humans are pre-adapted to the vegetarian diet. For that reason, the best arguments in support of a meat-free diet remain ecological, ethical, and health concerns.

http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/omni.htm In other words, we eat the way we do, by peronal choice and nothing more. If you so chose not to eat meat or drink milk, then don't. I however know for a fact that my husband has been on the Low Carb diet for some time now, is in better physical and mental shape than he has ever been in his life, his Hypoglysimia (sp?) is no longer an issue (which it was when he attempted to go Vegitarian due to the high natural sugars in veggies and fruit) and his doctor has said his cholesterol is the lowest he has seen in years. He is in fact healthier than he has been in his entire life (not just adult life, but his entire life). I wish you luck in your choice Shelia! I really do. Hope this clears up what humans really are!
