Donna-Wondering if you had a chance to look thru the sites?
Many of the lower end systems come with 32 or 64 mg of
memory. It doesn't sound like you have ever opened a case
up-the reason I ask is that if you would feel comfortable
putting in a memory module yourself or if you would prefer
to avoid this. Does your $600 budget include a monitor?
In my opinion the most cost effective is to purchase your
monitor separate from the rest of system from a seller
which allows pickups-This takes more effort and legwork.
Some of these monitors are refurbished, used or new. You
can decide on what monitor to purchase later since it
sounded like you are borrowing your friends monitor. But
you will need to decide on 14,15,17 inch monitor.
