Ok I broke down and started looking for marinade recipes. Here are 2 but I haven't tried them. It gives you an idea of what you can use tho. I'm sure homemade marinade could save you money too.

2/3 c.reserved pineapple juice (from can of chunks -used for kabobs but you can use them for something else like dessert)
1/4 c. honey
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. ginger

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over med. heat until honey is melted. Pour over chicken pieces. Marinate for 20 minutes. Then you can bring the sauce to a boil (after removing the chicken) to use for basting the chicken while you grill it.

Another:
2/3 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. lime juice
2 Tbsp chopped green chilies
1 tsp. minced fresh garlic

Mix. Add chicken. Marinate for 45 min. Grill.

If you try them let me know how they are.
